With the massive outbreak of Novel Coronavirus popularly termed as COVID-19, conferences happening across the globe are being postponed, the search marketing industry is no exception. Here are updates on some of the prominent search marketing conferences that were scheduled to take place.

  • Pubcon, Florida, 2020.

Pubcon Florida which was scheduled for March 24, 2020, has been postponed as several parts of Florida have been infected by Coronavirus. The rescheduled dates of the conference are yet to be decided. However, Pubcon Florida has stated that it will announce the dates on its blog, once decided.

Here is the official announcement:

“The situation deteriorated rapidly with the virus turning up in numerous parts of Florida. Florida and other places declared states of disaster or emergency.

Then about midweek, many tech firms began limiting employee travel. Google, Microsoft, and several others canceled all unnecessary travel.”

  • SMX Munich, 2020.

Adhering to the Federal Minister of Health’s guidelines which prohibit any events larger than 1,000 participants, SMX Munich has postponed the physical conference scheduled on March 18-19, 2020. However, they will hold a virtual edition of the conference on the scheduled dates via live streaming.

  • SEMpdx, Portland Conference Rescheduled.

SEMpdx, Engage Marketing Conference 2020 which was supposed to take place on March 12-13, 2020 at Portland is rescheduled to August 6-7, 2020. This was decided for the health and safety of everyone associated with the conference, after exploring all the possible options.

  • SMX Advanced 2020, Seattle.

Amidst this coronavirus chaos, SMX Advanced 2020, which was supposed to take place in Seattle, Washington State in June 2020 seems optimistic and plans to proceed as scheduled. The officials say that things could change by June as currently, we are at the beginning of the pandemic. Washington State is currently the most severely affected area by the COVID-19 in the USA, according to the Centers for Disease Control.

A strict no-handshake policy will be followed, and the travelers from ‘Level 3 Nations’ and nations with high infection rates are banned from attending the conference.

  • YoastCon 2020 Postponed.

Yoast announced that YoastCon 2020 is postponed due to the pandemic COVID-19. The officials say that they are currently discussing new date possibilities for YoastCon to reschedule it later this year and will keep everyone updated about their plans.

  • Digital Olympus Conference, Poland.

The Digital Olympus announced on their Twitter handle saying that the conference which was supposed to happen in April 2020 is rescheduled to September 2020 due to the Coronavirus situation in Poland. 

Let us all hope that the world rises out of this catastrophic situation soon, and things start rolling back to normal.
