Google’s Senior Webmaster Trends Analyst John Mueller, made a statement relating to SEO friendly font for websites. He said that “the choice of font doesn’t matter for SEO, use one that works for your site.”

Someone on twitter asked these questions to John Mueller:

Fonts affect the speed of website? Any SEO friendly Font for my new website ? Can you suggest. in your opinion which Google fonts will you prefer?

John Muller responded, saying:

Anything you put on your pages can affect their speed. Test it and find what works best for your site. The choice of font doesn’t matter for SEO — use one that works for your site 🙂

Key Takeaway:

  • Anything we put on the sites page affects the page speed. Hence in case of fonts, we can try testing different fonts on pages and accordingly decide the best one for our site.
  • As there is no specific SEO friendly font, we can use the one that doesn’t affect the page speed and is preferred by the users and us.
